Насколько я понимаю, автор сам пользуется этой технологией (обратите внимание в Cons : Your pads won't last as long (although my Monty Milk pads last me at least 6 months of 6 hours a week riding with ground rims)
Grinding
Background:
I have no idea who thought of this first. The idea is that the rougher you make the brake track on your rim, the better the braking will be.
Tools/Materials Needed:
Hand disc grinder (I use a Makita 100 mm Disc Grinder with a Metal Professional 4" x 1/4" x 5/8" disc)
Mask (to protect from the burnt aluminum, which is bad for you to breathe in)
Eye goggles
Directions: (if you are under 18, please have an adult watch and help you, or do it for you)
In an open area, flip your bike over and deflate your tires completely. Put on your goggles and mask. Push the tire away from you, away from the rim (you don't want to hit the tire!). Turn the dremmel on, and rub it back and forth against the top portion of the brake track on the rim. When you get the depth you want, rotate the wheel a little and keep going. Same for the rest of the bike. You'll have to figure out how harsh of a grind you like. If you don't feel much of a bite with the newly ground rims, you might want to do it deeper next time.
Pros:
Very good strength (medium to deep grind)
Good modulation
Works well in the wet (your grind will turn smooth fast, however!)
Nothing to apply to rims
Lasts at least a month (for me) before it gets worn down
Cons:
Every time you grind your rims, your sidewalls get weaker (hasn't been a problem for me)
(not 100% about this) Bad for your health (breathing in the fumes of aluminum is bad for you, so wear a mask)
Your pads won't last as long (although my Monty Milk pads last me at least 6 months of 6 hours a week riding with ground rims)
